1. About these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Shiftline AI Ltd ("we", "us"), the operator of CoolCompair at https://coolcompair.com. They apply every time you visit the site, click a product link, sign up to a mailing list, or use any interactive feature. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the site.

2. What CoolCompair is

CoolCompair is an independent editorial site that publishes buying guides, expert verdicts and a daily-checked price catalogue for air conditioners and fans across the United Kingdom, United States, Australia, Spain, Italy, France and the United Arab Emirates. We are not a retailer; we do not stock, sell or ship products ourselves. When you click a "See at retailer" button you leave our site for a third-party retailer's checkout, governed by that retailer's own terms.

3. Affiliate compensation

Many of the outbound links on CoolCompair are tracked affiliate links. We may earn a commission if you buy a product through one of these links, at no additional cost to you. 4. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use CoolCompair. By using the site you confirm that you meet that requirement and that you can form a legally binding contract under the law of your country of residence.

5. Accounts

Some features (such as the admin panel or price-drop alerts) require an account. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for any activity on your account. Tell us at hello@coolcompair.com immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the site for any illegal purpose or in breach of these Terms.
• Scrape, copy or republish substantial portions of our content without written permission.
• Reverse-engineer or interfere with the operation of the site.
• Use the AI buyer or advice tool to submit harmful, abusive or unlawful content.
• Bypass affiliate tracking (e.g. by stripping query parameters) where you intend to claim the commission for yourself.

7. Accuracy of information

We do our best to keep prices, specifications and availability up to date — pricing is re-checked at least once a day and product listings are reviewed by our editors. Despite this, retailer prices can change between two of our checks, items can go out of stock, and listings may contain errors. The retailer's checkout page is always the final word on price and availability.

8. Intellectual property

The CoolCompair name, logo, written reviews, scoring methodology, diagrams, photography and code are owned by Shiftline AI Ltd or its licensors and protected by copyright and database rights. You may link to our pages and share short excerpts for personal use; any other reproduction requires our prior written permission.

9. User submissions

If you submit a comment, review, advice-tool description or other content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and adapt that content as part of running the site. You confirm that you own the rights you grant and that the content does not infringe anyone else's rights.

10. Third-party links

CoolCompair contains links to retailer sites and other third-party resources. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, policies or practices of those sites. Reviewing their terms and privacy notices is your responsibility.

11. Disclaimer

CoolCompair is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free or that recommendations will fit your specific circumstances. Buying decisions — especially for installed air-conditioning systems — should be confirmed with a qualified installer for your property and climate.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither Shiftline AI Ltd nor its officers, directors, employees or affiliates will be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages arising out of or in connection with your use of CoolCompair. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Shiftline AI Ltd against any claims, losses, liabilities, damages and expenses arising out of your breach of these Terms or misuse of the site.

14. Termination

We may suspend or close your account, or restrict access to the site, if we reasonably believe these Terms have been breached or if we are required to do so by law. You can stop using the site at any time; sections 8, 11, 12, 13 and 16 survive termination.

15. Changes

We may revise these Terms occasionally. The current version is always the one published at https://coolcompair.com/terms, with the "last updated" date at the top of the page. Material changes will be announced on the site.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. The courts of England & Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from or in connection with them, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings locally.
